Terms of service
Last updated: September 14, 2026/Reliable Plumbing, Salt Lake City, UT/Governed by Utah law
This page covers using reliableplumbingslc.com and what to expect when you hire us. Everything on this site is general information, not advice about your specific plumbing. Estimates are free, and we don't do work you haven't approved. If something goes wrong between us, Utah law applies. The full text is below, and none of it is written to trick you.
These terms of service govern your use of reliableplumbingslc.com and any plumbing services you request from Reliable Plumbing, a family-owned plumbing company based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Throughout this page, "we," "us," and "our" mean Reliable Plumbing, and "you" means the person using the site or hiring us.
By using the site or requesting service, you're agreeing to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site. If any part of this page is unclear, call us at (801) 803-0847 and we'll explain it rather than pointing at the paragraph again.
A separate written estimate, work order, or service agreement covering a specific job takes precedence over these terms wherever the two conflict.
You may use this site to learn about our services, read our guidance, and get in touch. You agree not to use it to do anything unlawful, to interfere with how it runs, to attempt unauthorized access to any part of it, or to scrape or copy its contents for a competing commercial purpose.
The text, layout, photographs, and design on this site belong to Reliable Plumbing or are used with permission. You're welcome to share a link to any page, and to quote a short passage with attribution. Republishing substantial portions of the content as your own is not permitted.
We try to keep everything here accurate and current, but we don't guarantee that the site will always be available, error-free, or completely up to date. Prices, service areas, and availability change.
This site includes guidance intended to be genuinely useful: how to find a main water shutoff, how to check your meter for a leak, what to do while waiting for a plumber, how to reduce the risk of frozen pipes, and similar. That material is general information for a typical home. It is not a professional assessment of your particular system, and it isn't a substitute for having a licensed plumber look at the problem.
Every house is different. Pipe material, age, layout, pressure, prior repairs, and local code requirements all change what the right answer is. Acting on general guidance without knowing those specifics carries risk, and you do so at your own discretion.
Safety matters more than any of this. Do not attempt work involving gas lines, electrical connections, sealed or pressurized systems, or anything you're not confident about. If you smell gas, leave the building and call your gas utility before you call anyone else. If water is actively causing damage, shut off the supply and call us at (801) 803-0847 rather than working through a checklist.
Submitting the contact form, calling, or texting us is a request for service, not a booking. A job is scheduled once we've spoken with you and confirmed a time. We aim to respond to form submissions the same day, and to messages received after hours the following morning, but response times aren't guaranteed and shouldn't be relied on in an emergency.
We provide free estimates for plumbing work in our service area. An estimate is based on the information available at the time it's given. Where we haven't yet seen the problem in person, any figure we give is a range rather than a quote, and the firm price follows an on-site assessment.
We may decline a job. Reasons include the work falling outside what we do, the location falling outside our service area, or the scope requiring a trade or licensure we don't hold.
We ask that an adult be present for the duration of repairs and installations. This lets us discuss anything unexpected as we find it, confirm you're satisfied before we leave, and keep your home secure while we work.
You're responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the work area, including clearing stored items from under sinks, around water heaters, and at crawl space or basement access points. Where access can't be provided, or where conditions on site are unsafe, we may need to reschedule.
Arrival windows are estimates. Emergency calls, unexpected complications on an earlier job, and weather can move them. We'll let you know as soon as we can if a time is slipping, and we'd appreciate the same courtesy in return.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, tell us as early as you reasonably can. We don't charge for cancellations made with reasonable notice. Where we've traveled to a confirmed appointment and can't get access, or nobody is there, we may need to charge for the trip. If that's going to apply, you'll hear it from us beforehand rather than seeing it on an invoice.
You'll receive the price for the work before it begins, and nothing proceeds without your approval. If we discover a second problem or a complication once work is underway, we stop, explain what we found and what it would cost, and wait for your decision before continuing. Additional work is never added to an invoice without your agreement.
Where a job's true scope can't be established without opening something up, we'll tell you that in advance and agree an approach with you before starting.
Unless we've agreed otherwise in writing beforehand, payment is due on completion of the work. On larger jobs, particularly those requiring ordered parts or a multi-day schedule, we may ask for a deposit. Where that applies you'll be told the amount and what it covers before you commit to anything. Accepted payment methods are confirmed when the work is booked.
Emergency, after-hours, weekend, and holiday calls may be billed at a different rate than scheduled daytime work. Where that applies to your job, you'll hear it when you call and before anyone is dispatched, not when the invoice arrives.
We take emergency plumbing calls 24 hours a day at (801) 803-0847. Availability depends on where you are and what's already in progress, and we'll give you an honest arrival window when you call rather than a promise we can't keep.
Emergency work focuses first on stopping active damage and second on identifying the underlying cause. A temporary measure taken to stop water is not a permanent repair, and where that's the case we'll say so and talk through what a lasting fix involves.
The contact form is not monitored continuously and should not be used for emergencies. If water is actively causing damage, call.
We stand behind the work we do. If something we repaired or installed fails because of our workmanship, tell us and we'll come back and put it right. The specific coverage period depends on the type of work and the components involved, so we confirm it with you as part of your estimate or invoice. That way you have it in writing for your particular job rather than having to infer it from a webpage.
Parts, fixtures, and equipment carry warranties issued by their manufacturers. Those terms, lengths, and claim processes vary by product and are set by the manufacturer rather than by us. We'll tell you what applies to the specific parts used on your job.
Where you supply your own fixtures or materials, we're glad to install them. Our work on the installation is our responsibility. The item itself, its suitability for your application, and its warranty remain between you and the supplier. If a customer-supplied item is defective, incomplete, or incompatible with the existing plumbing, additional visits or parts may be chargeable.
We can't warrant work performed on failing or end-of-life components where we've recommended replacement and repair was chosen instead. In those cases we'll tell you plainly at the time, so the decision is an informed one.
Work that adds, moves, or replaces piping generally requires a permit and an inspection. Like-for-like fixture replacement on existing lines usually does not. Requirements differ between municipalities across the Salt Lake Valley, and we'll confirm what your project needs before work is scheduled rather than partway through.
Where a permit is required, permit and inspection fees are charged by the local authority and are separate from our labor and materials. We'll make clear who is responsible for pulling the permit and what the fee is expected to be before the job starts.
We don't perform work that knowingly violates applicable plumbing code, regardless of who is asking.
When you give us your phone number, whether through the form, over the phone, or by texting us, you're agreeing that we may contact you at that number about your request, your appointment, and the work itself. That includes calls and SMS text messages.
We use text messaging for practical things: confirming appointments, letting you know when we're on the way, and receiving photos of a problem. We don't send marketing texts. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply, and message frequency depends on your job.
You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP, or by telling us on the phone. Opting out of texts doesn't stop us from calling you about work in progress.
Calls may be recorded or monitored for quality and training purposes where we tell you so at the start of the call.
We sometimes photograph completed work for our own records and occasionally to show examples of what we do. We won't publish a photograph that identifies your home or its address without asking you first.
If you leave us a public review on Google or another platform, that review is public by its nature, and we may quote it on this website alongside the name you published it under. If you'd rather we didn't, tell us and we'll remove it.
Photos you send us of a plumbing problem are used to diagnose and price the work. We won't publish them without your permission.
This site links to other websites, including manufacturer pages, our Google Business Profile, and local authority resources. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. A link isn't an endorsement of everything on the other end of it.

To the fullest extent permitted by Utah law, Reliable Plumbing is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of this website or from the guidance published on it, including loss of use, loss of data, or property damage resulting from work you undertook yourself based on general information here.
Our liability in connection with services we actually perform is addressed by our workmanship terms in Section 08, by our insurance coverage, and by any written agreement covering the specific job.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Existing conditions in older homes, including aged pipe, corroded fittings, failing shutoff valves, and prior repairs made by others, can fail when a system is disturbed even where the work is done correctly. We take reasonable care, tell you when we can see that risk in advance, and are not responsible for the underlying deterioration itself.
We may update these terms as our services, pricing structure, or legal obligations change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Changes take effect when posted, and the version in force when you booked a particular job is the one that governs that job.
Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these terms or from services we provide is subject to the jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Salt Lake County, Utah.
Before anything formal, please call us. In our experience most disagreements come from a misunderstanding about what was agreed, and a conversation resolves them faster and cheaper than anything else will.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
